Two escaped prisoners on the run since breaking out of a Kansas prison Sunday night and a female former guard suspected of helping them escape were taken into custody early today by Grants police and Cibola County sheriff's deputies. Grants police Detective Moses Marquez told ABQjournal com. Police were sent to a Grants apartment complex around 1:30 this morning after reports of two suspicious men looking into cars in the parking lot. Marquez said. A bystander told police they had seen the two men run into a building and one -- who turned out to be escapee Jesse Bell -- bolted out the back door and was caught while trying to scale a fence. Marquez told us. Meanwhile officers spotted the second man in the distance and the armed man -- who was 26-year-old Steven Ford -- fired four shots at police but no one was hit according to Marquez. Police then set out to look for 23-year-old Amber Goff who was fired earlier this month from her job as a correctional officer at the prison and was believed to have helped the men escape. Several hours later she was found sleeping in the same 2007 blue Ford Taurus that had been rented over the weekend in Oklahoma City in the driveway of a vacant residence in Grants. Marquez said. All three are being held at the Cibola County Detention Center awaiting extradition back to Kansas to face escape charges in addition to local charges of aggravated assault. Marquez said. Lenoir County lawmen tell WITN that they caught the fifth of the six teens who escaped from prison custody in Pitt County Wednesday night. 16-year-old Charles Powell was found in a remove in La Grange which is his hometown. Detectives say community members spotted Powell and called police. He was arrested around 9 a m. Friday. The only girl involved in breaking out of the Pitt County Regional Juvenile Detention Center was also found Friday morning. Pitt County investigators say 15-year-old Sabrina Daniels of Farmville was apprehended around 6 a m. Friday in Edgecombe County. Lawmen say they were checking the homes of relatives of the escapees when they found her. Only 17-year-old Jontaz Arthur is comfort at large. Three others were open Thursday evening in Ayden. Police open 15-year-old Tycon May. 15-year-old Deonta Blount and 15-year-old David Faison in an abandoned building on Blount Street. They were found with a state-owned vehicle reported stolen from the facility during the escape. The director of the Pitt County Regional Juvenile Detention bear on says Wednesday night's flee was gang related. The teens overpowered guards around 11:10 p m and escaped from the holding center for teens who undergo been charged with crimes but are typically 15 years old or younger. The bear on's director says there were three guards on duty enough to watch over the 22 inmates when the escape happened.
