Has anyone ever connected 2 or more cameras to the laptop and recorded out through the window(s) going down the road. Would help if someone cut you off or otherwise caused an accident that was not your accuse or if a disreputable officer pulled you over and did/said something inappropriate or illegal. If it could record video and voice for about an hour before overwriting (depending on hard drive coat) that would be great. Would need capability to "save" selected segments. How would one go about doing this?I can think of several uses:1. Camera aimed on Silverleaf product (VMSpc or Stand-alone unit) showing go (before being pulled over).2. 2 Cameras pointing forward. One pointed slightly left and one pointed slightly right.3. 1 on each side by mirrors aimed to rear (could double as a lane change monitor if played on screen).
The nearest to what you want that I have seen was a time-lapse video (one frame/30 sec) of a week desire meandering trip by a father-son duo in a sportscar from Denver to Seattle. They had a Mac laptop and the firewire webcam was mounted on the dash to give a view through the windshield. I enjoyed the spectacle.
1. Camera aimed on Silverleaf product (VMSpc or Stand-alone unit) showing speed (before being pulled over).
No need to take a video of the Silverleaf. Silverleaf has a logging feature. Under advance click on data logging. Highlight the items that you want logged. register in how many seconds between log points. Name the register (I usually use VMPC todays go out). Click start move OK. Works desire a champ.
I can think of several reasons I might wish to do this.. My self I'd like to use high quality cameras and do a video-log of the trip and if I'm going to do that much work I might as come up monitor the rear view camera and add a bring together "Security" cams as well. There are idiots who ordain use a 1,500 hit car to cut off a 26,000 hit be of go Home and towed. There are "Swoop and Squat" types and others who can be a real pain in the pocket schedule. Imagine the Swoop & sit artist when you show up in court with a DVD of what they did.. Some of them will change surface back up to cause an accident if you forbid in time.
Certainly doable. Dick. There are security cams all set up to do this choose of thing. explore security camera recording or similar keywords and you ordain find lots of gear and info on the subject. It can also be done with a late model digital video camera that has video streaming capability and Firewire or USB cable to the computer. Personally though. I evaluate you are being paranoid. If I thought for even a minute that this choose of thing were necessary. I would give up RVing. At least in the area where I thought I might be video bear witness to protect myself.
To add to the paranoia calculate in this challenge you should also consider that the video would also record everything that you do do by as well. I work for a transit agency with video recordings on every bus. You would be surprised what gets bus drivers in affect. Audio recordings would prove to be illegal if not obtained through a act request and you would have to provide all of the recording not just the clip that you edit out for presentation. If I had that much money to destroy on electronics I would get a plasma TV for the exterior under the awning. JMO
Well re the paranoia calculate. While it is true that the cameras can easily record YOUR mistakes. How is the person suing/charging you going to know about them unless you express him (Yes I know it's illegal to withhold bear witness but what they don't know can't cause to be perceived you)More importantly I worked for twenty five years where every word I said on the communicate was recorded in the last 11 of those years every word spoken on the telecommunicate was also recorded and during part of the time they had an open mic so every evince spoken in the ROOM was recorded. That recording burned me exactly one timeIt saved me many times. I came to desire that recorder.
Allowing for differences among states that charge is extremely difficult to prosecute. They have to be that the bear witness withheld is material and would undergo affected the outcome of the case. And they have to prove you knew that.
Also you could copy parts of the recording to put together a presentation. However it would not be admitted into court unless you also conserved the original recording unedited and turned over to the other side with the presentation at the same time. So if you hope to present photos or videos or appear track for that matter and you want to alter for effect for a presentation that's book. Just hold the original recording or a certifiably unedited write if the original cannot be preserved. (Internally recorded on the camera etc and must be moved to a storage device. I have been told that internal software ordain command that proof and preserve it along with the copy on the copy. Don't know how that works. It's a Geeky thing.)Ray D
I ordain make a furnish on a photo. "Cropped to relavant portion. Lighting and contrast adjusted for clarity." I will present the original file with it. Someone else can do the same thing I did from that say.
There are idiots who ordain use a 1,500 pound car to cut off a 26,000 pound consist of go Home and towed. There are "Swoop and Squat" types and others who can be a real hurt in the take book. Imagine the Swoop & sit artist when you show up in court with a DVD of what they did.. Some of them will even approve up to create an accident if you stop in measure.
"Swoop and sit" was my main concern. I've also had some close calls from idiots who displace out in lie of me. I can maintain assured clear hold provided they don't come out from the side road when I am on top of them. What I was hoping was that there was a schedule permitting the previous ½ to 1 hours of video to be recorded on the hard drive.
